Speculation
Yesterday I mentioned that Shaan Hurley of Autodesk disclosed details of AutoCAD 2009. Shaan left this comment:
"It is unfortunate that some feel I cannot speak about anything that might or might not be future of UI and CAD in the context of the article about the past of Autodesk and AutoCAD. Should I leave speculation only to others, nah."
According to the Oxford dictionary, "speculate" is a verb which means "to form a theory or conjecture without firm evidence". So you cannot speculate on something you already know. At SYCODE, we are using an AutoCAD 2009 Beta. I guess Shaan is using the same at Autodesk. Shaan and I can do a lot of things, but speculation is certainly not one of them.
Unless Autodesk is using another dictionary.

Shaan is (or, at least, has been) an Autodesk Technical Marketing Manager. I'd have to assume that his "speculation" on features is part of a marketing plan.
In any event, are you so naive that you believe Autodesk does not play games with NDA to gain a market advantage?
Just wait a couple of months, and you'll see lots of carefully choreographed NDA leaks from independent AutoCAD Bloggers.

I guess you missed something in my earlier article: "I sometimes wonder why companies make such a big hue and cry about their Non Disclosure Agreements. Maybe because they think that keeping something secret and then leaking it out makes it more interesting than making it public to begin with."

I neither confirmed or stated anything existed, would ship, or anything more than saying what the future could hold and not a fact or a commitment.
Deelip, your statements go above and beyond what you claimed I hinted at in an article as a possible future. You may want to review your agreements in short order.
For the record I have not played any game when answering the questions for the AUGI article. Try to keep this in context with an article about the 25 year anniversary. No choreography, secret plans, or aliens working in the basement folks.
